This is one of the first things I change up in a clients cooking habits. I encourage them to make their own spice mixes. The store bought, ready-made mixes are usually filled with artificial ingredients such as partially hydrogenated soybean oils, silicon dioxide and ethoxyquin.


Making your own spice mixtures is super easy and cheaper too. You can make it in bulk and have for easy access when need be. As long as you keep it in an air tight container, it will stay fresh.


You can use this taco seasoning in taco meat, homemade taco sauce or as a dry rub on any protein like chicken or beef for that Mexican flavor. Taco Tuesday just got kicked up a healthier, tastier notch.


** use 2-3T with 1 pound of meat in recipes.



MexiAlly Taco Seasoning



12 T chili powder

8 tsp ground cumin

4 tsp garlic powder

4 tsp onion powder

6 tsp paprika

2 tsp black pepper



1.  Mix all ingredients together and store in an air tight container. I like to use mason jars.

2.  Use 2-3T with pound of meat in recipes.
